hector quay

Hector Heritage Quay

In 1773 the Ship Hector sailed from Scotland to Pictou, initiating a wave of Scotch emigration from the Old World. The settlers who came on that first trip suffered many hardships, but many were able to take their meagre plot of land and plant new roots for their children and descendants. The Quay welcomes you to explore and learn about our proud heritage.
